Thanks from an Earthling

If you haven’t got your health, you haven’t got anything. -Count Rugan, “The Princess Bride” (1987) First and foremost, during this whole wackadoo year, I’m thankful that I’m healthy (albeit a little more round than I’d like). I’m thankful that Earthlings were poised to make the swift and efficient move to remote work in March. We had just recently implemented a one-day-a-week work-from-home schedule merely weeks before the order to shut everything down. This meant we had a policy in place and had started working out expectations in regards to Slack status, etc. One of our team was headed West to live, so we were able to turn a few printed-paper processes into electronic distribution, saving both time and trees. I’m thankful that I work with a group of thoughtful, eager, and resilient developers and problem-solvers. The curveball of the pandemic has given us many challenges and we’ve made it this far, which makes me think we can make it through. Speaking of challenges, I’m thankful that Earthling is able to take challenging problems head-on and find creative, innovative, and time-saving solutions. The collective experience of our team is a font of knowledge, which means at least one of us has past experience and ideas for implementation. Every one of us will remember 2020 and the people we were “with” who helped us get through. I could do a lot worse than my fellow Earthlings. 🤓 😂 -Bekee Gibson Director of Content Management Systems
